Power & Construction Group, Inc. has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Valley Sand and Gravel Division!
Our Aggregates division, Valley Sand & Gravel, is a DEC and DOT approved sand and gravel operation. We can service all size projects, with deliveries available in six wheelers, ten wheelers, tractor trailers, and slinger service.
Salary Range: $28-$30/hr. based on experience
Location: Caledonia, NY
Job Summary:
The heavy equipment operator is responsible for efficiently and safely operating a loader to move and load materials such as sand, gravel, and other aggregates. To load materials into trucks or onto conveyor systems, ensuring proper distribution and stability. The operator will maintain all loaders operated during a shift, including proper maintenance including lubrication, pre and post shift inspections and cleanliness of cab.
Responsibilities:
- Use of a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, loaders, backhoes and skid steers
- Mixing materials, loading trucks and preventative maintenance of equipment
- Operators will be willing to be crossed trained on multiple loaders to perform different jobs such as but not limited to portable screener, bank loading, and plant clean up
- When there is time or needed the operator will work with the rest of the Valley team either with the loader or physically on the task
- The operator will adhere to all MSHA and company safety rules and help to advise customers when they are not while in the mining are
- The operator will help ensure that the quality and cleanliness of the product is right prior to loading out to a customer
- Other duties and responsibilities based on needs or changes that may occur in the mining operation or within the PCG organization
Qualifications:
- Experience with heavy equipment operation, loader experience required
- Valid NYS Drivers License required
- Any offer of employment is contingent upon passing a DOT Physical, drug screen, background check, and driver’s license check
- Candidates must maintain passing results throughout the term of employment with P&CG
Schedule:
- Summer: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 4:00pm; Some Saturdays and overtime available
- Winter: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm; 40 hours a week.
