Our Underground division works to build and maintain essential utility lines such as electric power, gas, and communications. These lines serve as the backbone of our society. We are currently looking for an Estimator to join our team.
Salary Range: $85000-$105000 plus profit share
Location: Scottsville, NY
Position Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our dynamic team.
- The Estimator is responsible for managing the bidding process for a portfolio of underground projects, managing the procedural workflow for assigned bids, creating accurate bid estimates and documentation, and ultimately tracking the completion of projects.
Responsibilities
Specific duties of the Estimator will include, but not be limited to:
- Perform all work associated with the bidding process
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Coordinate with vendors for pricing
- Process and track bid submittal documents
- Prepare and submit accurate project estimates and bids
- Produce and distribute correspondences, memos, letters, and forms
- Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
Requirements
- Must be able to demonstrate skills in the safe operation and daily preventative maintenance of backhoes, excavators, loaders, and skid steers.
- Have no lifting or physical restrictions.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with the public and Clients.
- Work outdoors year-round in all types of weather
- Demonstrate safe and proper use and maintenance of all company tools and equipment.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong estimating and project tracking skills.
- Experience with underground utilities construction and excavation projects ideal; heavy highway construction experience also acceptable.
- Knowledge of construction project documents (contracts, drawings, specifications) and procedures is required.
- Proficient with computer applications/software; experience with Microsoft Office applications required, including
- Microsoft Project and Bid to Win experience a plus.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management skills along with attention to detail. Must be self-motivated.
- Must understand construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
