Power & Construction Group, Inc. has an opening for a CDL-A Driver with the Logistics Division!
Salary Range: $25-$35/hr. Mileage-based per diem pay requires a single trip more than 250 one-way miles
Location: Scottsville, NY

Location: Rochester, NY (Approximately 60% of driving is within the Rochester area, 30% in Central NY and another 10% out of state in other northeastern states)
Primary Function and Scope:
The Driver will work to manage the delivery of parts, equipment and material to utility customers and job sites around the region. This will include driving a tractor trailer (mostly Dry Van and Flatbed) to various locations around the area and may require driver assistance including physical loading and unloading along with load securing best practices.
Specific duties of this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Operate our equipment with constant attention to safety, including driving company vehicles
- Locate and load parts by hand/dolly/pallet jack/forklift/telehandler/crane onto truck for delivery
- Drive to yards and job sites to deliver materials needed by our customers; while travel will generally be in and around Rochester, some extended day travel may be required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal employees and customers regarding deliveries, sometimes adjusting priorities accordingly
- Willingness to obey and promote Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety requirements
- Maintain detailed records of material delivered
- Maintain detailed driving records
- Performing both pre and post inspections on equipment, freight and load securement
- Operate our equipment with constant attention to safety, including driving company vehicles
- Perform some minor maintenance and repair on vehicle as required
- Potential trips across the border (Canada and Mexico)
- Open to performing warehouse duties such as put away, pick, pack and ship, cleaning, organizing and more…
- Willingness to handle other job duties upon request
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years of work experience; construction industry experience preferred
- CDL A license holder; IMPECCABLE driving record
- Coil endorsement or the willingness to get one would be a plus
- OSHA10 safety certification is required (If applicant does not hold this certification, P&CG will pay for computer-based training with applicant completing on-line course within 5 days of hiring, and Certification is the property of the applicant)
- Safety certifications preferred (e.g., First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space)
- Strong customer service orientation; able to communicate with site crews and address challenges
- Experience in a labor-intensive position and working outside in all types of weather conditions
- Capable of working variable shifts with extended hours
- Superior with time management skills
- Advanced communication skills with a positive attitude
- Experience working with various tools such as drills, saws, etc.
- Tanker and Hazmat certifications a plus
- Someone willing to go above and beyond job responsibilities without being instructed
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other members of the team
- Safety focused
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
Any offer of employment is contingent upon passing a DOT Physical, drug screen, and driver’s license check. Candidates must maintain passing results throughout the term of employment with P&CG.
